Many times, the cornerstones of our beliefs can be rocked by circumstances in our lives. This does not necessarily indicate a weak faith, but rather is an indication that the things in life you are dealing with are hard, and you may need some help to gain some perspective and guidance. This is where a faith-centered approach typically referred to as Christian Counseling may be helpful.

What is Christian Counseling?

At its most basic, Christian counseling is where evidence-based therapy approaches are used in conjunction with an exploration of personal faith and how that faith impacts daily life and the problems you are facing. Whether it’s dealing with trauma, a recent death, relationship issues, feeling lost, anxiety, or depression, having someone that understands your own belief system and can work with you in that context is helpful. In Christian counseling, we work together to explore your faith history and define how your faith impacts, or is being impacted by, the problems you are facing, and how you can address them.

Why Christian Counseling?

Christian Counseling approaches are important because your spirituality makes up a big part of who you are. God made us as emotional beings, a reflection of Him, and because of this, you can often find clarity and guidance in looking at your life struggles in the context of your belief system. It influences emotions, choices, culture, career, and pretty much every aspect of life in one way or another. In the same respect, all parts of your life can impact your spiritual walk. In Christian Counseling, God is not taken out of the equation, but integrated into the professional help you will receive.
