Depression & Anxiety
Are you feeling down and unmotivated? Do you have difficulty concentrating on simple tasks throughout the day? Does it seem like, even if you get a decent amount of sleep, you continue to feel exhausted? Have you been feeling irritable, and easily bothered? Are co-workers, friends, or family constantly asking you if you're feeling ok, or are worried something's wrong?
These are all signs of Depression and Anxiety. They can have a major impact on a life. Whether it's chronic or occurs occasionally, I have the skills and training to address the symptoms and help discover the underlying problems that may be at play.
Teenage Struggles & Behavior Change
Does it seem like you have greater difficulty connecting to your teenager? Are they shutting you out? Are you concerned about their academic performance or social life? Are they struggling with feeling isolated, lonely, depressed, lost, or bullied? Have they experienced a trauma or loss recently, and you've noticed changes in their behavior?
Teenagers already have a lot on their plate with the developmental changes their bodies and brains are going through. Add on other social, academic, and, occasionally, health stresses, and there's potential for real struggle. I have extensive experience working with teenagers and their families on creating positive changes in their lives, adapting to major stressors, and building executive functioning skills to aid in their academic life and transition into adulthood.
Relationships & Marriage
Are you struggling to connect with others? Finding that the relationships you are in seem to end up failing? Maybe you've found the one you want to spend the rest of your life with, but want to make sure you're equipped to handle the real struggles marriage can bring? Maybe you've been in a committed relationship for a while now, and recently you've been feeling like you cannot connect with your partner, or have just lost that "magic"?
Relationships are hard. Anyone who's in one can tell you. Most are worth working at, though. I have the skills and training to help you discover joy in meaningful relationships with others, or fan the embers of that flame so it's burning strong once again.
Are you struggling with academic life? Are grades slipping and you just don't know what else to do? Have you hesitated on declaring a major, and are feeling lost in all the possibilities? Feel like your balance of social life, and academic responsibilities is off, and it's affecting both friends or family and grades? Having trouble managing finances now that you're on your own?
Adjusting to Academic life can be hard. Jetting off into college and career is intimidating for many people. From spending years doing Academic Coaching, and my advanced training as a therapist, I can help you build the skills and confidence necessary to excel in your academic endeavors, and transition into a career.
CAREER & MAJOR LIFE TRANSITIONS
Are you thinking about making a change in your career? Moving to a new job? Starting your own business? Maybe you're in a position of forced change, whether that's from a job loss or other reasons? Are you fresh out of college and looking for that first big position? Maybe you're facing other major changes outside of career, like moving out on your own for the first time, or ending a significant relationship?
Life changes can be stressful and daunting, even the small ones. I have the skills and experience to help you navigate those changes and make the best decisions you can. I can help you process through the impact of these changes, and even prepare ahead of time for the adjustments that may be needed.
TRAUMA & RECOVERY
Have you experienced a recent trauma? Maybe you're still struggling with a trauma from your past? Are you experiencing panic when you think about the incident? Do you have trouble sleeping at night because your mind wanders to those events? Are you avoiding situations and places that you worry would remind you of the event? Are you still experiencing physical effects of the trauma, and having difficulty coping with the changes they bring to your life?
Trauma comes in many forms. It could be a physical trauma, such as an accident or injury, or sexual or physical abuse. It could be an emotional trauma, such as witnessing a crime or accident, or being involved in an emotionally abusive or manipulative relationship. Maybe it's a combination of things. Recovering from trauma can be a very difficult thing to do alone. I have experience and specialized training to help you recover from your trauma.
